If you try to execute MSN Messenger when the Braille Sense U2 QWERTY
is not connected to the Internet, the Braille Sense U2 QWERTY announces
"Connection failed. please check your Internet connection." and returns to
the log-in dialog.
16.4.2 Using a Contact List
If you have successfully logged in, a list box containing your MSN contacts
appears. In this list, the contact information for those who are online and for
those who are offline is grouped together. Move through the list by pressing
“down arrow button” or “up arrow button” repeatedly. When this list box
appears, the number of people who are online is displayed first. Your online
contacts are shown in the format, "(current status) nickname xx/yy" in Braille,
and "nickname, current status, xx/yy" in speech. Where "yy" is the number of
people who are online or offline, and "xx" is the order of the current item in
the online or offline group. In Braille, the current status, "online", is displayed
as "nln", and "offline" as "fln". In speech, status is announced as "online" or
"offline". When a contact's status is "idle", it is displayed as "idl" in Braille,
and "idle" in speech. If the status of a person changes after you log in,
different sound is heard depending on their status.
YOU can use the following hot keys in this list box:
1. Move to the previous item : Up arrow button or up scroll button
2. Move to the next item : down arrow button or down scroll button
3. Move between online and offline groups : Ctrl-Down arrow key
WHEN you receive a message, you can have the message stay on the
Braille display until you are done reading it. When in the Contacts list box
Press "Ctrl-l". When you are asked to "Confirm the received message: No",
select "Yes" by pressing "space". When a message is received the message
stays on the Braille display until you close it with "Esc".
To close the messenger program, press "Enter" on "Close" in the file menu.
