Navigate/PCS 60/PCS 50 is partnering a PCS IP Phone
changing a User’s ring tones will change the ringing
on the PCS IP handset. If the User is happy with their PCS IP Phone playing Ring Tune 7-8 then these can
be used, however if that is not the case, delete the WAV files stored in C:\Program Files\<Navigate/PCS 60
/PCS 50>\res and a ringing sound will not be played by the PC.
Ring tunes for PCS IP Phones can be programmed locally using a .site file, please refer to the
“Changing
the Logo pic on a PCS 5xx” FAQ on the SpliceCom Forums for instructions on how to set up ring tunes for
these phones.
Please note that this configuration will take priority over settings made in the User’s
configuration form.
Specify a Ring Tune for calls from a specific number
Calls from a specific external number or internal extension number can be identified by specifying a ring
tune for these calls as follows:

In Manager select Users

Select the User required

Select the Tunes page

Select Add Ring Tune

In the Telephone Number field enter the incoming
number to be matched. This can be an internal
extension or external number.

From the Ring Type list box select CallerID

From the Ring Tune list box select the ring tune
required.

Select Update or Apply when ready
Specify a Ring Tune for personal or Department calls
A User may wish to differentiate between calls to their extension number and DDI number from calls to a
Department of which they are a member by using a different ring tune as follows:

In Manager select Users

Select the User required

Select the Tunes page

Select Add Ring Tune

In the Telephone Number field enter the number to be
called. If the User wishes to recognise calls to his
extension/DDI enter the User’s extension number. If
the User wishes to recognise calls to a Department of
which he is a member enter the Department’s
extension number

From the Ring Type list box select Destination

From the Ring Tune list box select the ring tune
required.

Select Update or Apply when ready
This entry will take precedence over any other Ring Tune entry.
Specify a Ring Tune when Forward/Follow Me Both Personal is set
When the Follow Me Dual Personal or Dual All
feature is set the User’s extension will ring as well as the
Follow Me To number. (Please refer to page 103 for details on this feature.) The User may wish to have a
different ring tune played on their extension to remind them when this feature is set.
