installation and a Trunk licence is required to activate a further channel. To activate a PRI channel (up to
15 channels) on a Remote Call Server a Trunk licence is also required.
Trunk Licencing
To increase the number of ISDN connections on a module Trunk licences must be purchased and the
relevant number of channels entered into the Capacity field of the relevant Trunk. To configure and
enable DPNSS, SIP or H.323 IP Trunk services a Trunk licence is necessary for each concurrent channel
required and must be entered into the Capacity field of the relevant Trunk.
A Trunk licence (one licence per channel) is required to:

Utilize SIP, H323 or DPNSS.
x
Increase the number of connections supported on a S8000/S716.
x
Activate the channels on the third and fourth BRI ports on the 5100 Call Server.
x
Activate the channels on the two PRI ports available on the 5100 Call Server.
x
Activate the channels on the second BRI port on the 5108 Call Server.
x
Activate the channels on BRI2, BRI3 and BRI4 on the I208
x
Activate the further channels on the PRI port on the I230
x
Use more than one channel on a PRI trunk on the 4100 Call Server and 4200 Trunk Module.

Activate the channels on the third and fourth BRI ports on the 4140 Remote Call Server.

Activate the channels on the 15 channel PRI port available on the 4140 Remote Call Server.
Please refer to the Licencing section from page 20 for instructions on how to install the Trunk licences
once purchased. The relevant number of channels available must then be entered into the required
Trunk as follows:

In Manager select Trunks

Select the module containing the Trunk you wish to amend, eg CallServer

Select the ISDN trunk to be configured.

In the Capacity field enter the number of channels (Trunk licences) to be assigned to this Trunk.
Configuring an ISDN Trunk
Each ISDN BRI or PRI port provided by a Call Server, NSG, I208, I230 or Trunk Module is displayed under
the Trunk section of the configuration. Each Trunk can be configured independently, as follows.

In Manager select Trunks

Select the relevant module containing the trunk required, eg CallServer

Select the trunk required

You may wish to change the Description field to assist you with identifying the port
