ESPSession licence
The ESPSession licence enables a single Enhanced Speech Processing channel within the voicemail
application to facilitate the use of the Extended Attendant, VXML Scripts, Ring Back when Free, and Vision
Position in Queue and Estimated Time To Answer announcements. One licence per concurrent call is
required, the licence will be released once the call has been answered.
Once the licences have been installed the number of channels should then be entered within the
relevant VoicemailPort.

The number of ESPSession, MessageBox and VoicemailPort licences used and available can be viewed via
Manager Assist, by selecting System Checks and then System Licences.
For further information please on licensing refer to the Installing Licences section from page 20.
Voicemail Ports
A Voicemail
Port determines the facilities to be provided by a Call Server’s voicemail service.
By default,
one Voicemail Port is created on the database, called BuiltIn, and can be used to control the entire
voicemail facility. However, on systems with more than one Call Server additional Voicemail Ports can be
created if different settings are required for each Call Server, for example, when Call Servers need to
connect to different email servers for the Voicemail Email facility, or when using voicemail running on an
external PC.
When multiple Voicemail Ports are required, each Call Server must have a Voicemail Port called “BuiltIn”.
If voicemail is running on an external server an additional Voicemail Port must be created and can have
any name other than “BuiltIn”. If specific voicemail services are to be centralised on one call server, such
as the Auto Attendant service or Conference service, an additional Voicemail Port must created and can
have any name other than “BuiltIn”.
The system will always look in the BuiltIn Voicemail Port first and if
the relevant service is not enabled it will look in other Voicemail Ports.
Vision requires each Call Server on the system to have its own BuiltIn Voicemail Port. Where a system
consists of only one Call Server this must still be entered in Call Server field of the default BuiltIn Voicemail
Port. (Please refer to the Vision Installation and Configuration manual for further details.)
