CHAPTER 4
CONFIGURATION SETUP
LLDP Fast Start
DT700 Series usually transmits LLDP packets at the interval (30 seconds by default) specified by LLDP
Packet Transmission Interval (Transmit Interval). However, this may cause slow MED device configu-
ration due to the detection delay. In order to prompt neighbor devices to transmit an LLDP packet and
renew the existing network information, DT700 Series can consecutively transmit one LLDP packet per
second for a limited time, reducing the time it takes for automatic LLDP configuration. This feature,
called “LLDP Fast Start,” is activated immediately after DT700 Series starts transmitting an LLDP
packet or when the link has been established on the LAN port, and transmits LLDP packets at intervals
of one second for the duration of the LLDP Fast Start Count. After completion of the count, the trans-
mission interval for LLDP packets returns to the value set for LLDP Packet Transmission Interval
(Transmit Interval).
LLDP Auto Setting Mode
DT700 Series can automatically set the voice network policies based on the information from received
LLDP packets. When the LLDP Auto Setting Mode is enabled, after starting LLDP packet transmission
and reception, DT700 Series automatically sets network policies by using the valid LLDP packet re-
ceived within the time specified by the Reception Waiting Time (RX Waiting Time).
LLDP Transparent Mode
DT700 Series can forward LLDP data between its LAN and PC ports. This provides the above-men-
tioned LLDP Auto Setting for a PC connected to the PC port of a DT700 Series terminal like those ter-
minals adjacent to an LLDP capable switch.
When this Transparent Mode is enabled, DT700 Series transmits LLDP packets received on the LAN
port to the PC port and vice versa.
Note:
When the Transparent Mode is enabled, DT700 Series exchanges information with the LLDP-capable de-
vice connected to the PC port, as well as with the one connected to the LAN port.
