Reads the boot table of the drive being installed. If the file card
cannot install the drive successfully, control-bus messages are
displayed. CB IN reports 01 in offset 03.
Writes the serial number of the selected drive to the new table
on system drives 0 and 1.
Updates the amount of available free space if the new drive is a
message drive, as shown in SMT menu 12.
5. When the initialization is complete, press any key to return to the
Drive Replacement Utilities menu.
6. Type
^C
to return to menu 20.

16.5 DRIVE INSTALL UTILITIES
The Drive Install Utilities menu provides options for installing drives,
deinstalling drives, and initializing the system. These utilities which are
available only in the offline mode, are described in sections 16.5.1 through
16.5.3. From menu 20, enter the corresponding menu-item number at the
Enter Choice:
prompt to access the Drive Install Utilities menu, shown in
Figure 16-20.
