changes, if no additional letter keys must be pressed. If an additional letter
key must be pressed, press and hold down the
Ctrl
key and the first letter
key, then type the second letter key. For example,
^DC
indicates pressing the
Ctrl
and
D
keys simultaneously, then pressing the
C
key. Only the last letter
typed appears on the screen.
Validity checks 0, 10, and 11 can be performed while the XC1000 is on
line. If using flex ports or MTA, ensure that no system manager is
accessing the XC1000 from those ports while the reformat options are
being run. Check menu 12 to make sure that system drives 0 and 1 are
installed, then perform the following steps:
1. Access the Main Menu on the SMT.
2. Access the following menus from the Main Menu and print them:
Menus 1.1 and 1.2
Menu 1.3, if applicable
Menu 2 and all submenus
Menu 3
Menu 4 and all submenus
Menu 5
Menus 6.1 and 6.2
Menu 6.3, if applicable
Menu 12
Menus 13.2, 13.7, 13.8, and 13.10
Menus 15.1 and 15.2
Menu 18.1 (if data module connected)
3. At the Main Menu, type the current date, in the format mmdd, as the
menu selection. For example, January 9 would be 109 and December 15
would be 1215. Press the
Enter
key. The service prompt

appears.
4. At the
>
prompt, turn on continuous-mode printing by pressing the
Copy Pr
key on the HP terminal or the
Ctrl
,
Shift
,
and
keys,
simultaneously, on the Wyse 50 terminal. This allows the results of
the validity-check and garbage-collect utilities to be printed. All
screens will be printed starting with the reformat menu.
5. Type
REFORMAT
and press the
Enter
key. The reformat menu
appears, as shown in Figure 12-2.
6. When the reformat menu appears, type
0
and press the
Enter
key to
select the
Validity check user records option.
7. When the prompt
ENTER “Y” TO CONFIRM USER RECORD VALIDITY
CHECK
appears, type
Y
, and press the
Enter
key.
8. When the prompt
CHECK DONE—PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTINUE
appears, press any key, then verify that no errors were reported for
any mailboxes (from the printouts made in step 2). If any damaged
user records are found, contact the Octel Communications Technical
Assistance Center before continuing with the software upgrade.
9. At the
>
prompt, type
REFORMAT
, and press the
Enter
key.
