14.6 PRINT RELEVANT MENUS AND RUN VALIDITY
CHECKS AND GARBAGE COLLECT
Having printouts of relevant menus and performing the necessary validity
checks and garbage collect is critical if problems occur during the FCP
conversion. To print relevant menus and run validity checks and garbage
collect, perform the steps in sections 14.6.1 and 14.6.2.
14.6.1 Printing Relevant Menus
Perform the following steps to print relevant menus before performing an
FCP conversion:
1. Make sure that a printer is connected to the back of the system
manager terminal connected to the XC1000 and that the power is
turned on.
2. Press the
Copy Pr
key on a HP 700/43 terminal or the
Ctrl, Shift,
and
keys simultaneously on the Wyse 50 terminal to begin
continuous-print mode.
3. From the SMT Main Menu, select and print the following menus:
Menus 1.1 and 1.2
Menu 2 and all submenus
Menu 4 (if not already printed in section 14.4).
Menu 5
Menus 6.1, 6.2, and 6.3
Menu 12
Menus 13.2, 13.4, 13.7, 13.8, and 13.10
Menus 15.1.2, and 15.2 with all submenus
4. Turn the printer off.
14.6.2 Running Validity Checks and Garbage Collect
Perform the following steps to run validity checks and garbage collect:
1. At the SMT Main Menu prompt, type the date in mmdd format, then
press the
Return
key.
2. At the
>
prompt, type
reformat
and press the
Return
key. Depending
on the XC1000’s current software release, either Figure 14-1 or
Figure 14-2 appears.
If errors are displayed while performing the following
validity checks and garbage collect, correct them before
continuing the FCP conversion.
