The system tables can be read and displayed when using the system
utilities. Other data and message records are contained in files on the
drives. To read or write records in these files, the system utilities require
entering the file number in addition to the data-record number. Use
Table 9-2 to select the file number in which a record is located.

Sections 9.4.5.1 through 9.4.5.9 describe the options provided in the DISK
UTILITY OPTIONS: menu.
9.4.5.1 Utility-Option A – READ DISK RECORD. Perform the following steps to
read a record from the disk drive:
1. Select utility-option A to read a record. Enter ^C at any time to
cancel the operation.
The following prompts appear:
ENTER READ DRIVE NUMBER (0-3, M0-M7):
ENTER FILE NUMBER (HEX):
ENTER RECORD NUMBER (HEX):
ENTER NUMBER OF RECORDS (HEX):
READ DISK DRIVE x, FILE x RECORD x (y RECORDS)
COMPLETE
