XC1000 Service
To determine the amount of existing CPU memory, at a convenient
time, reboot the XC1000 to the
ENTER BOOT COMMAND:
prompt.
Just above the prompt, a
Scrubbing all “known” DRAM memory...
prompt will be displayed, followed by a hexadecimal value. A value of
00800000 denotes 8 MB of CPU memory. A value of 01000000
denotes 16 MB of CPU memory.
Two F10 file cards, P/N 044–2005–XXX,

or two F20 file cards, P/N
044–2054–XXX

(if dual-cabinet XC1000, two sets of file cards are
required).
DLC–1 (digital line card) cards, P/N 044–2003–XXX,

V3 monitor card, P/N 044–2030–XXX.

14.3.2 Specifying Firmware for the XC1000
The following firmware should either be on hand for the FCP conversion or
installed in the XC1000 by the end of the FCP conversion, as noted. If the
installed firmware differs in part number and revision before the FCP
conversion, make sure that new firmware is available to be upgraded
during the FCP conversion.
If you have questions or concerns about EPROM configurations and part
numbers, contact your Octel sales representative.
CPU C20 turbo EPROMs:
Low byte, P/N 039–1402–001, revision 9312 or higher
High byte, P/N 039–1403–001, revision 9312 or higher
If dual-cabinet XC1000, two sets of EPROMs are required.
V3 monitor card EPROMs, P/N 039–1380–001, revision 9202 or
higher.
If F10 file cards are installed, they must have the following EPROMs
installed:
Low byte, P/N 039–1274–001, revision 9104
High byte, P/N 039–1275–001, revision 9104
Two sets of the following EPROMs must be on hand for the FCP
conversion:
Low byte, P/N 039–1274–003, revision 9306 (or higher)
High byte, P/N 039–1275–003, revision 9306 (or higher)
If dual-cabinet XC1000, four sets of EPROMs are required.
* The ‘XXX’ denotes variation cards with the same base number. The cards with variations are also acceptable.
