should resolve most of the problems associated with these entries. The
situation could ultimately require assistance from the Octel Communica-
tions Technical Assistance Center.
NOTIFY SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE.
These entries are serious
enough to usually require assistance from the Octel Communications
Technical Assistance Center. However, certain status-code entries
labeled with this level of severity can be corrected by using informa-
tion found in this chapter.
Usually, only the status code is needed to determine the cause of a problem. If
a status code requires further interpretation, details can be found in the body
of the status-code entry. The following codes are found in the header line:
Task/source codes.
Offset 02 in the header line identifies the task
that logged the entry. The first byte of a control-bus (CB) message also
identifies the task. CB messages are discussed in section 7.2.4. The
CPU has preassigned task-identification numbers, so that it can keep
track of the multiple operations that it controls. Table 7-1 shows the
task/source codes and their descriptions.

Description
* From 0 to 143, in hexadecimal. Refer to Table 7-4 for a description of line tasks.
Status code.
The status code is located at offsets 04 and 05, in
transposed form. Different tasks can log the same status code, so the
status code could occur in more than one line task in the status log.
Refer to section 7.3 for a complete list of status codes.
Subcode.
Offsets 08 and 09 contain a subcode that provides
additional information about the status-code entry. Not all status
codes report a subcode; if there is no subcode,
0000
appears as the
entry in offsets 08 and 09.
