The Busy-Out Controller is an encased relay apparatus located directly
below the +12-Vdc power supply unit, at the lower left corner of cabinet 1
in a single or dual-cabinet XC1000. The Busy-Out Controller acts as a
signal relay from the XC1000 to the switch and notifies the switch of any
problem conditions on the TIC/DLC pairs in the XC1000. Refer to
Installation Instruction 181–1104–000

installation and configuration procedures for the Busy-Out Controller.
Additional features available with the Busy-Out Controller include power-fail
detection and optional automatic out-of-service (OOS) detection. If a power
failure occurs, the controller automatically busies all ports on the XC1000.
If the optional OOS detection is implemented, the switch can detect an OOS
alarm from the XC1000 and automatically busies all ports on the XC1000.
