2. In the
Number of Rings for Local and Long-Distance Calls (Used
for Outcalls):
field, enter the number of rings allowed for outcalling
before XC1000 considers the outcall unanswered and disconnects. The
maximum number allowed is
20
.
This field determines the number of rings for outcalls to a local
(7-digit) or long-distance (10-digit) number—for example, calling a
pager, the subscriber’s home, or the subscriber’s office.
3. In the
Number of Rings for On-PBX Calls (Used for Outcalling):
field,
enter the number of rings allowed when XC1000 places an outcall to a
telephone number within the switch or Centrex partition. The max-
imum number allowed is
20
. If the telephone remains unanswered after
the specified number of rings, XC1000 disconnects and attempts the
call at a later time.
An excessive number of rings can cause delays in the connection. The
number of rings should be set for one less than the number of rings
allowed by the switch. This field shows only the number of rings for
outcalls to a telephone number in the switch. It does
not
show the
number of rings before an outside call is forwarded to another tele-
phone number or to XC1000.
