If the
Sharpness Auto
box is ticked, the
Sharpness Filter
drop down menu with three pre-selections
(Weak, Standard & Strong) for automatic noise filter estimation becomes available. Strong filtering allows
for higher frequencies, leading to higher resolved, but in general noisier images.
It depends on the sample structure and the signal-to-noise of the raw data image, which pre-
selection gives the best result, which represents a compromise between resolution and background
noise.
In order to see, what filter was estimated when using auto noise filter settings, untick the
Sharpness Auto
box checkbox. The number displayed will be the noise filter from the previous
Auto filter estimation.
By pressing
Default
the current parameter values
will be stored as default values (Fig. 380). By
pressing
Reuse
the last stored default values will
be loaded.
Pressing
Attach
allows parameter values to be attached to an image. In normal case if any of the SIM
parameters will be changed, they will be applied accordingly for the processing, but may not be saved
into the image. Then if the image is saved, the values of the parameters applied for the image will be
lost.
If you attach the corresponding tag to the image by pressing the
Attach
button parameter values used to
process the image will be attached to the image, even if it is not explicitly saved again. They will then be
available for further processing, in particular for Batch processing.
You can instead of processing only one
selected image also load more images to be
processed sequentially. To this end press the
Run Batch
button (Fig. 381). This will open
Windows
Explorer
from which you can
select all images you want to process.
Once loaded the software immediately starts
Batch processing and shows the current file
(with directory) in the
Batch
display
window, which is currently processed
(Fig. 382). The
Batch display
window also
shows the current state of batch processing
in %. Once the button is pressed and the
files loaded the system immediately begins
to process the loaded files regardless if the
Apply
button is pressed or not.
The
Run Batch
button will turn into a
Stop Batch
button once pressed. If the button is pressed, batch
processing will be stopped, no matter if
Apply
was pressed or not and the button turns back to
Run
Batch
.
In batch processing all images can only be processed with one parameter setting. If images,
however, have been processed already once and are linked to processing parameters by pressing
the
Attach
button, those settings will be taken and the general setting overruled. If you want to
overrule attached settings and fit all Batch files with the set and displayed parameters, you have to
check the
Use current for Batch
box.
The
Default
mode is recommended for images with high modulation contrast. If
Default
is
selected, pre-set filter and parameter values will be used. In case the modulation contrast is low
one might benefit from changing the pre-set values and work in
Adjust
mode. If
Adjust
is selected
all and new filters become accessible to be changed.
