Online (external) Processing
It is possible to save dimensions of the
experiment as individual files.
To do so, the dimensions can be chosen
with the according check box in the
Streaming
tool window (see Fig. 244) or the
Set Streaming for processing during
experiment
check box in the
Online
Processing Options
tool window (see
Fig. 246, for processing on a separate
computer).
It is important that only the time checkbox is
activated for external processing, which is
the default setting.
Streaming
Open the
Streaming and Auto Save
tool window to activate this option by checking the box labelled
Streaming
. This will activate the function that data is saved and automatically written to the hard drive
during the acquisition process, so when image acquisition is disrupted, the data up to this point will be
available.
If you have an external processing PC you wish to stream onto, make sure that the directory is mapped.
When you turn on the PC for system control after the external PC is completely booted, the directory is
mapped automatically.
Activated Streaming will enhance the speed by which .czi datasets are opened. Before an Experiment is
started, a Windows Explorer window will open. Here the destination of the streaming and a file name
can be chosen. The image series will then be saved with this file name extended by the exact date and
time of the image acquisition.
The data can be separated into separate files, defined by chosen dimensions. More than one dimension
can be selected. As a default for later external processing, time is activated and should remain this way. It
will generate the file structure for later processing.
As an alternative,
Auto Save
is available as a simple way to secure files e.g. at an overnight acquisition
without any special processing requirements.
Note that
Auto Save
might slow down performance and does not allow external processing.
