Chapter 2 Using the console interface

When the volume of either packet type is high, placing severe strain on the
network (often referred to as a “storm”), you can set the forwarding rate of those
packet types to not exceed a specified percentage of the total available bandwidth.
The percentage you set refers to the total available bandwidth, not to a percentage
of current traffic.
Limit
Sets the amount of Packets Per Second allowed for forwarding. 0 pps means
Rate Limiting has been disabled.
Default value:
0 pps
Range:
0-262143
Switch
Allows you to enable Rate Limiting on current selected unit.
Stack
Allows you to enable Rate Limiting on an entire stack. This field is visible only if
stacking has been configured.
