Section 7 - Initial Setup
If the “Motor Idle” position is selected (see previous paragraph), idle speed
can be increased or decreased by adjusting the idle speed potentiometer
located on the speed control circuit board (Figure 7-4). A clockwise rotation
will increase idle speed. This adjustment will have no effect if the unit is in
the “Motor Stop” mode.
The calibration potentiometer (Figure 7-5) protects the unit against
excessive motor voltage when a system is in the automatic mode. To adjust
the calibration potentiometer, follow these steps:
1.
Switch the AutoGlue selector switch on.
2.
Turn the glue flow control knob to a full clockwise position.
3.
Run the parent machine at the highest production speed (fastest
speed at which glue is applied).
4.
The calibration potentiometer should be adjusted so that
armature voltage reads 180VDC (circuit board terminals A1 and
A2). A clockwise rotation will increase the voltage.
