Installing the Dump Valve
The dump valve should be connected to the VC350A interface board (Figure 6-26). This is a 12VDC output
connected to J9 that operates in two different modes—mode 1 and mode 2.
Mode 1
If JP3 on the main board (Figure 6-14) is set in the “NEW” (left) position, the dump valve will be energized when
the parent machine is above minimum speed. The speed LED will always turn on to indicate that the parent machine
is running above minimum speed.
SW12, position 3, must be in the up position. The dump LED (D12) will illuminate when the dump valve is
energized. When the parent machine goes below minimum speed, the dump valve will shut off and both LEDs will
turn off. If SW12, position 3, is moved to the down position, the valve will be energized below minimum speed and
shut off when the parent machine goes above minimum speed.
Mode 2
If JP3 on the main board (Figure 6-14) is set in the “OLD” (right) position, the dump valve will energize for the
user-preset time when the parent machine goes below minimum speed. The user-preset time is set by adjusting P4
on the main board from 1-10 seconds. After the preset time, the dump valve will shut off. SW12, position 3, must be
in the up position for this mode to operate properly.
Note! This is a typical connection for an air-actuated 12VDC dump valve.
