Glue Problems
1.
Glue drips or runs from
applicator head when
the parent machine is
stopped.

Glue drips or runs from
applicator head when
the parent machine is
operating.
2a. Incorrect lateral adjustment
2b. Incorrect angle of applicator head

2a. Reposition applicator head.
2b. Adjust applicator head to 35°.
2c. Replace applicator head.
3.
Excessive glue is
present on the product.
3a. Glue pattern is too long
3b. Applicator assembly is in the
wrong position

3d. Glue pressure is too high
3e. Box tab is cut too small
3f. Glue viscosity too low

Glue is leaking from the
solenoid air valve.

6a. Remove the large nut from the
bottom of the pressure regulator.
Remove the ball and spring.
Inspect, clean or replace as
necessary. (Use Valco’s regulator
repair kit 563xx038.)
7.
Glue valve activates at
random.
7a. Scanner is detecting material other
than the product (scrap board or
machine parts)
7b. Scanner is not detecting either the
print or the dark colors.
7c. Shaft encoder timing belt is loose
7d. Defective circuit cards
7a. Adjust scanner position (cell-to-
gun dimension must be
recalculated if scanner is moved).
7b. Lower scanner or change to a
different type of scanner.
7c. Tighten or replace belt.
7d. Check and replace cards.
