Electrical Installation of the Glue Valve
Glue valves can be wired to the VC350A in several configurations.
Glue Valve Installation for a One-Channel System
The glue valve cable should have a minimum of two conductors (18-20 AWG) and a shield.
To install a single glue valve, follow these steps:
1. Connect glue-valve cable to “J3-Valve 1” on valve-driver board (Figure 6-13):
1a. Insert the glue valve cable into the control through a cord grip located on the bottom panel of the
control.
1b. Connect the glue valve cable to the connectors labeled “valve-1” or “valve-2” (see Tables 6-3, 6-4,
and 6-5 for connections).
1c. The shield wire should be connected to a protective earth (P.E.) or shield terminal.
1d. Tighten the cord grip used by the valve cable.
2. Set JP1 on the main board (Figure 6-14) to the SC1 position.
To install two glue valves dispensing an identical pattern, follow these steps:
1. Connect glue-valve cables to “J3-Valve 1” and “J4-Valve 2”.
2. Repeat steps 1a through 1d above for each valve connection.
3. Set JP1 on the main board to the SC1 position (Figure 6-14).
