Glue Valve Installation for a Two-Channel System
To install one glue valve for pattern-skip-pattern (P-S-P), follow these steps:
1. Connect glue-valve cable to “J3-Valve 1” (see Tables 6, 7, and 8 for connections).
2. Set JP1 on the main board (Figure 6-14) to the SC1 position.
3. Set SW7 on the channel II board (Figure 6-16) to the P-S-P position (down).
Note! SW6 can be set to either position. The “Gun 1” selector switch on both channels will operate P-S-P.
The “Gun 2” selector switches will not be operational and should be disconnected.
To install two glue valves dispensing different patterns, follow these steps:
Note! Gun 1, channel 1 = valve 1. Gun 2, channel II = valve 2. Gun 2, channel 1 and gun 1,
channel II are not operational and should be disconnected.
1. Connect glue valve cables to “J3-Valve 1” and “J4-Valve 2” (see Tables 6, 7, and 8 for connections).
2. Set JP1 on the main board to the SC1 position. If two scanners are used, set JP1 to the “SC2” position
(scanner 1 controls channel 1, scanner 2 controls channel II).
3. Set SW6 on the channel II board to the P-S-P position (down).
4. Set SW7 on the channel II board to the CH2 position (up).
To install four glue valves dispensing two different patterns, follow these steps:
1. Connect glue valve cables 1 and 2 to J3-Valve 1” and “J4-Valve 2” of the lower valve-driver board (see
Tables 6, 7, and 8 for connections).
2. Connect glue valve cables 3 and 4 to J3-Valve 1” and “J4-Valve 2” of the upper valve-driver board.
3. Set JP1 on the main board to the SC1 position. If two scanners are used, set JP1 to the “SC2” position
(scanner 1 controls channel 1, scanner 2 controls channel II).
4. Set SW6 on the channel II board to the CH2 position (up).
5. Set SW7 on the channel II board to the CH2 position (up).
