MC060 Manual/VC350AG AutoGlue Control System
Section 6 - Installation
Different systems use different valves,
and the different valves may use
various applicator heads. Glue
application systems may include either
contact or non-contact valves.
Mechanical installation of the glue valve includes installation of the glue valve
(with a specific Valco bracket package) and the applicator assembly.
To install non-contact valves, follow these steps:
1.
Install the nozzle onto the valve.
2.
Purge all air from the glue line by activating the purge button
attached to the valve of valve cable.
3.
Run adhesive through the valve until there is no air present in
the glue line.
The valve should produce an even glue
flow.
4.
Ensure that there is a 0.040-0.185" (1-4.7 mm) maximum
distance between the nozzle tip of the valve and the product.
The valve distance to product must be
adjusted to reduce glue trailing or
nozzle buildup. This will allow optimum
glue patterns for each application.
To install contact valves, follow these steps:
1.
Install the applicator head onto the valve.
2.
Purge all air from the glue line by activating the purge
mechanism on the solenoid air valve.
3.
Run adhesive through the valve until there is no air present in
the glue line.
The valve should produce an even glue
flow.
4.
Run the parent machine.
5.
Stop the machine when a product is at the glue station.
