5. Run a sample product through the glue station.
The glue pattern should start in the
“Start” dimension from the front of the
tab and stop at the “Stop” dimension
from the back edge of the tab (see
Figures 8-1 and 8-3).
6. If the glue pattern is incorrect, ensure that the “start” and “stop”
switches are in the correct positions. If glue pattern is still
incorrect, see Section 7—Initial Setup for adjustments.
The parent machine must run above
the minimum speed setting in order for
the glue valve to operate. If the
minimum-speed LED is off, the parent
machine is running below the minimum
speed. The minimum-speed LED is
located on the lower left corner of the
main board.
7. Adjust the fluid-flow control adjust knob on the front panel
(Figure 8-2) to increase or decrease the amount of glue being
applied.
To set up a job, follow these steps:
1. Measure the distance from the leading edge of the box(first
edge seen by the scanner) to the point at which the glue pattern
should begin (Figure 8-5).
2. Enter this dimension as the “Start” value on the front panel of
the control unit (Figure 8-2). Value of 09.00 as shown in Figure
8-5.
3. Measure the distance from the leading edge of the box to the
point at which the glue pattern should stop (Figure 8-6).
4. Enter this dimension as the “Stop” value on the front panel of the
control unit (Figure 8-2). Value of 20.00 as shown in Figure 8-6.
The “Start” value entered must be
smaller than the “Stop” value.
Otherwise, the control will apply
random glue patterns.
