Section 8 - Operation
MC060 Manual/VC350AG AutoGlue Control System
The fluid-flow control (EPC) is enclosed within the VC350AG control. The
operation interface is a simple adjust knob that is adjusted from the front
panel. A clockwise rotation increases the pressure and a counterclockwise
rotation decreases the pressure.
The amount of pressure seen on the front panel gauge is the air pressure
boost that is added to the preset pressure at the glue regulator. For
example, the “T” handle on the glue regulator is normally set at 10 psi. If the
EPC pressure is adjusted to 10 psi at jog speed, then the final glue pressure
will be 20 psi.
As the parent machine increases in speed, the glue pressure automatically
increases. If there is too much glue on the product at normal operating
speed, the pressure-control knob may be used to decrease the glue
pressure. Likewise, as the parent machine decreases in speed, the glue
pressure automatically decreases. If there is not enough glue on the
product, the front-panel knob may be used to increase the glue pressure.
The internal fluid-flow control settings are pre-adjusted at the factory. If the
glue pressure fails to automatically adjust with machine speed, follow these
steps:
1.
Check all air lines and ensure that they are in good working
order.
2.
Verify that the shop air to the VC350AG control is turned on and
at least 80 psi.
3.
Open the front panel door to the VC350AG control and ensure
that the MIN SPD LED on the main circuit board is illuminated.
4.
Ensure that all wires are connected to the manifold/board
assembly. (Figure 8-7)
5.
If the pressure gauge does not increase and decrease with
speed, use a DVM to measure the Analog voltage.
5a.
Set the DVM to VDC.
5b.
Measure between the GND and TP7 Analog test
points on the Main circuit board.
As the parent machine increases, the
voltage should increase; as the parent
machine decreases, the voltage should
decrease. If not, the main board is bad.
If the voltage changes but the pressure
does not, the problem may be either in
either the manifold assembly or the
manifold cable assembly.
