Mechanical Installation of the Control
The control should be installed on the operator’s side of the parent machine, in a location where there are a mini-
mum of vibrations. The control should require less than 25 feet (8 m) of wiring to reach the glue station, sensor,and
shaft encoder (longer wiring is available on request). A 5/16" (8 mm) hex wrench (included with control) can be
used to unlock the door of the control enclosure.
To install the control, follow these steps:
1. Install the wall-mounting rail to the machine wall. (Ensure that the rail is level.)
Note! The center distance between the rail’s two mounting holes is 9.5" (241.3 mm).
Note! If the wall can be tapped, use a .203-diameter pilot drill and 1/4-20 tap. If wall is too thin, use a 0.281
diameter clearance drill and the supplied lockwashers and nuts.
2. Install the 1/4-20 x 1.5" socket-head capscrew into the wall mounting rail. (See Figure 6 for orientation of
rail.) Do not thread screw completely into rail.
3. Using 1/4-20 x 1/2" socket-head capscrews, install the cabinet-mounting rail to the upper set of mounting
holes in the rear of the cabinet. (See Figure 6-3 for orientation of rail.)
4. Ensure that the slot in the rail is facing away from the cabinet.
5. Using 1/4-20 x 1/2" socket-head capscrews, install the two mounting spacers to the lower set of holes in
rear of cabinet.
CAUTION! Do not use screws longer than 1/2" to mount the cabinet-mount-
ing rail and the mounting spacers to the rear of the cabinet. USING LONGER
SCREWS WILL DAMAGE THE CABINET.
6. Slide the cabinet rail over the wall rail so that both mounting rails interlock.
7. Tighten the 1/4-20 x 1.5" sockethead capscrew to scure the two rails together.
Note! The lower mounting spacers can be positioned vertically to provide additional mounting capabilities.
Securing the bottom of the cabinet to the wall will reduce cabinet vibration.
