Inspecting the front fork
Place the spring on a flat surface and
measure free length (L).
Service limit:
270 mm
Change the spring if not within limit.
Inspect the outer surface of both
stanchion tubes and the inner surface
of both outer sleeves. They must be
free from scoring or denting.
Check that the stanchion tubes slide
freely in the sleeves, however
without exceeding play.
Check that stanchion tubes are
straight. Maximum straightness error
allowed is
0.10 mm.
Check the condition of the bushes
(25) and (27). Bushes must be free
from grooves or steps. If base copper
metal at the end facing into the tube
is visible, replace the bush.
Check the spring cap (24) for
distortion in the highlighted area.
Replace if distorted.

Appoggiare su un piano la molla e
misurarne la lunghezza libera (L).
Limite di servizio:
270 mm
Sostituire la molla se la lunghezza non
rientra nel limite.
Esaminare la superficie esterna dei
due tubi portanti e quella interna dei
due foderi; non dovranno apparire
rigature, scalini o punti di forzatura.
Controllare che ciascun tubo portante
scorra liberamente all’interno del
proprio fodero, ma senza presentare
eccessivo gioco.
Verificare la rettilineità dei tubi
portanti: massimo errore ammesso
0,10 mm.
Verificare le condizioni delle boccole
(25) e (27): non devono presentare
solchi o scalinature e non deve essere
visibile il rame di supporto sul lato in
entrata. In caso affermativo sostituire
la boccola.
Verificare la distorsione dello
scodellino (24) nella zona indicata. Se
risulta distorto; sostituirlo.
