DISCONNECTING THE UNIVERSAL JOINT
To disconnect the universal joint from the tractor and the implement (mounted or trailed), follow
the procedure below.
•
Disengage the tractor’s PTO drive shaft, refer to the chapter “PTO drive shaft
disengagement”.
•
Remove the safety chain protecting the safety devices against rotation.
•
Push the safety pin (2) to disconnect the universal joint (1) from the drive shaft on the
tractor and place it in a suitable place to avoid damaging the universal joint.
•
Install the safety guard (3) of the tractor’s PTO drive shaft back in its place.
WARNING:
The tubes of the universal joint must overlap by a minimum of 150
mm!
WARNING: The universal joint must always be disconnected from the
tractor’s PTO drive shaft first before it is disconnected from the PTO drive
shaft on the implement.
