O [Cause] During the transfer via SMB of [Scan to PC], the error
occurred to the specified save location or the file name for
the scanned image.
z
The specified save location does not exist on the server.
z
Unauthorized characters are being used in the specified
save location or the file name.
z
Because the specified save location has the Distributed
File System (DFS) settings, it is linked to other shared
folders.
[Remedy] Take one of the following actions:
z
Check if the save location is correct.
z
Check if the specified file name can be used on the SMB
server.
z
Confirm the Distributed File System (DFS) settings with
the system administrator. Check the following points:
1. Select [Start] > [Programs] > [Administrative Tools] >
[Distributed File System].
2.Select the specified save location from the left side
frame of the [Distributed File System] window, then
confirm the target information displayed on the right side
frame of the window.
3.Specify the SMB server, shared name, and save location
based on the information you just confirmed.

O [Cause] During the transfer via SMB of [Scan to PC], unable to
obtain the file name or folder name.
[Remedy] Check the access privilege to the SMB server.

O [Cause] During the transfer via SMB of [Scan to PC], the suffix of
the file name or folder name exceeds its limit on the SMB
server.
[Remedy] Change the file name on the SMB server, or change the
forwarding folder destination. Or, move or delete the files
in the destination folder.

O [Cause] During the transfer via SMB of [Scan to PC], unable to
create the scanned image file on the SMB server due to
the following reasons:
z
The specified file name has already being used on the
server.
z
The specified file name has already being used.
z
The specified file name exists as a directory.
z
Unauthorized characters are being used in the specified
file name.
[Remedy] Take one of the following actions:
z
Check if the specified file name can be used in the save
location.
z
Check whether or not the specified file name is not being
used by another user.
z
Check whether or not the specified file name has being
used for another file or folder.
