Timing relay, synchronous and asynchronous
flashing
Time value I1: mark time
Time value I2: space time
Synchronous (symmetrical) flashing: T1 equals T2
Asynchronous flashing: T1 not equal T2

a The relay flashes via the TS..QS contact, for as long as the
trigger coil TS..TR is activated.
b The Stop coil stops the run down of the flash time.
c The dropping out of the coil TS..SA causes the timing relay to
deactivate and the contact TS..QS opens.
Example - Architecture of Category 4 according to
EN ISO 13849-1
If the emergency-stop button is actuated, the motor should
not stop immediately but only after 2 seconds (stop category
1 to EN IEC 60204-1).
