Pallet encoder strip
assembly Assembly containing magnetic encoder strips and installed on the
shuttle assembly. The encoder assembly reads the encoder strips in
the shuttle encoder strip assembly for position feedback.
PCB Printed circuit board
Mechanically supports and electrically connects electronic
components using conductive tracks, pads and other features etched
from copper sheets laminated onto a non-conductive substrate.
PLC Programmable Logic Controller
An electronic processor that contains the programmable code for
controlling system operation, device operating sequences, fault
recovery, and data processing.
Reference pallet A SuperTrak pallet that is installed on the SuperTrak conveyance
platform and is used as a reference. It can be a specific production
pallet, or a few different pallets can be sampled and the pallet in the
middle of the range can be used.
Shuttle A pallet may also be referred to as a shuttle.
Stand An adjustable metal apparatus that mounts a section to the
SuperTrak GEN3 frame. Stands may be standard height or low profile.
Station Two (2) or more devices that work together to complete a task.
For example; a pallet stop on a conveyor and all the devices
responsible for working on the contents of the pallet.
System References the automation machine that the SuperTrak conveyance
platform
is integrated with.
Tagout The placement of a durable tag on an energy isolating device, in
accordance with established procedure, to identify the person who
placed a lock on the device. Equipment being controlled by the
energy isolating device must not be operated until the lock and tag
have been removed. Used in combination with lockout.
Target A location on the SuperTrak conveyance platform that can be set as a
pallet destination. A SuperTrak conveyance platform can have up to
255 configured targets, each located anywhere on the system.
Thermistor
(motor thermistor)
A motor thermistor is a temperature sensor that is used to monitor
the temperature of the linear motor.
