When You Receive i-mode
Mail
When the FOMA terminal is in the service area, the
i-mode center automatically sends i-mode mail or
MessageR/F.
z
Up to 1,000 mail messages (i-mode mail and SMS)
can be stored. The maximum number of messages
that can be stored will depend on the size of mail.

The received mail can be read out.

Displaying new messages

<Auto receive mail/message>
[1] The “Receiving” screen appears when the
reception of i-mode mail or message starts, and
the “Received result” screen appears when the
reception is finished.
z
“ ” flashes while receiving i-mode mail, and
“ ” stops flashing and lights up when the
reception is finished.
z
“ ” or “ ” flashes while receiving a message.
[2] The numbers of received mail and MessageR/F
appear on the received result screen.

The number of mail includes the number of
SMS.
z
When you select mail or message on the
received result screen, the Received mail list
screen (p.172) or Message list screen (p.184)
appears.

If no operation is performed for about
15 seconds while the received result screen is
displayed, the previous screen reappears for
mail and the Detail screen appears for
message. The display duration may vary
depending on the “Mail/Msg. ring time” setting.

Press

(Read) on the received result
screen to have the FOMA terminal read out
the mail message.

The detail screen of MessageR/F is displayed
automatically when the message is received
on the standby screen.
z
If no operation is performed for about
15 seconds while the Message detail screen
is displayed, the standby screen reappears.
However, if you perform operations such as
scrolling, the detail screen remains displayed.

Set the auto display of the MessageR/F detail
screen in “Auto-display setting”.
■ When you receive mail larger than 100K bytes
You cannot automatically receive an attached file if
the mail is larger than 100K bytes including the
attached file.
You can download the attached file larger than 100K
bytes manually from the i-mode center.

If the storage capacity for received mail is full
when you receive mail, mail other than unread or
protected mail and secret mail are deleted from
the mail in the trash box and oldest read mail.

When the FOMA terminal cannot receive any
more mail (filled with unread and protected mail),
(red)/ (red) appear. Read unread mail, or
unprotect unnecessary mail.
z
When 2in1 is in A mode or B mode and a mail
arrives only at the unused mode’s address, the
“Mail Receiving...” screen appears, but the
Received result screen and “
” do not appear. In
addition, the mail ring tone does not sound.
z
If you receive i-mode mail from a terminal that can
set To, Cc and Bcc, refer to the mail detail screen
to see whether your address is in the To, Cc or
Bcc field.

If you receive i-mode mail while the standby
screen is not displayed and “Receiving setting” is
set to “Operation preferred”, the ring tone does not
sound. When set to “Alarm preferred”, the ring
tone sounds and the Received result screen
appears.

If you receive i-shot service mail sent from a mova
terminal, images arrive as attached files.
