FTB-700G/800 Series

Smart Loopback

Smart Loopback

Allows transmitting back the received Ethernet stream of data while
interchanging the source and destination MAC addresses, IP addresses,
and/or UDP/TCP ports. However in

Transparent (Pseudo-Physical

) mode

the Smart Loopback operates as a physical loopback by transmitting all
received frames unaltered and without discrimination.

The Smart Loopback test can be created locally (refer to

Ethernet Test

on page 78) or remotely using an EXFO unit (refer to

Remote Button

on page 530) or a Third-Party device (see

Remote Loopback


