The interface command

CLEAR 713

resets the GPIB and sets the 8650B to its preset condition.

3.1.1.2

Clear Interface over GPIB

The interface command

ABORT 7

resets the GPIB without resetting the 8650B to its preset condition. The 8650B

will not be addressed after the abort.

3.1.1.3

Local & Remote Control over GPIB

The interface command

LOCAL 713

places the 8650B into the local control mode.

The interface command

REMOTE 713

places the 8650B into the remote control mode. Enter LOCAL 713 to

return the instrument to local mode.
The interface command

LOCAL LOCKOUT 7

places the 8650B in the local lockout mode. This is a remote control

mode in which all of the 8650B front panel keys are disabled. The

GPIB LOCAL

command must be issued to

return the 8650B to local mode (Disconnecting the GPIB cable will also return the instrument to local mode).
