9.6 RSEL Serial Communication Multiple Channel Applicable Features
The RSEL serial communication is currently available only in one channel. But, this feature
enables to have multiple channel communication.
It enables a use such as to connect the PC teaching software, a teaching pendant and a
programmable display at the same time.
* This feature is set “inactivated” on delivery.
9.6.1 Applicable version
The applicable versions for this feature are as shown below.

SEL Unit V1.09 or later
PC Software V14.01.00.00 or later
TB-02/03 V3.40 or later
(Note) If the PC software or TB-02/03 is in a version not applicable, activating this feature may
disconnect the communication.

9.6.2 Function details
This feature should activate by setting the parameters.
(Set 1 in I/O Parameter No. 116 bit 0 to 3)
(*) It is inactivated in standard delivery, and one channel is available for communication.
While the IAI protocol multiple channel communication is permitted, the operation should differ
depending on the protocol command types.
The “inquiry commands (e.g. monitoring of current position and position data)” should be
available in the multiple channel communication.
The “execution commands (e.g. editing of position data / SEL program / parameters and axis
operations such as turning the servo on and home-return operation)” should be available for
communication in one channel only.

The execution command reception channels for each operation mode are as shown below.

When an execution command is received from a
communication channel with high priority in the
channels in communication, the command in the
high priority communication channel should get
executed. And a command in a communication
channel in low priority should get disposed and
disregarded.

An execution command should be available only
in one channel that was set.
Receiving an execution command from any
channel other than the execution command
reception channels should dispose and disregard
the command.
