Call Through
This function also enables, e.g., field representatives to use the least cost routing function and
VoIP/GSM routing on the PBX. To prevent high costs when using mobile telephones, an inter-
national call be made by first calling the PBX and then connecting to the desired connection
from the PBX. The Call Through function also enables the direct redial of any phone number.
In addition, the called party will ony see the company‘s phone number. This protects the privacy
of field representatives who are calling via a mobile telephone, for example.
The Call Through Process
A Call Through call is carried out as follows:
•
On his mobile phone, the user dials an external number that has previously been defined
for Call Through on the PBX.
•
Based on the phone number transmitted by the mobile phone, the PBX verifies whether the
caller is a Call Through user.
•
If the caller is a Call Through user, the PBX automatically takes the call and signals this
using a special tone.
•
The user dials the desired phone number on his mobile phone equipped with DTMF. After
successful verification based on the Call Through list and perhaps the least cost routing
table, the PBX then dials this number and a connection is established.
Note:
The greatest cost saving is achieved when the PBX phone number has
been entered – if available – as a preferred special phone number with the
mobile communications provider.
