12 LMB External Bus Unit (EBU)
The External Bus Unit (EBU) of the TC1784 controls the transactions between external
memories or peripheral units, and the internal memories and peripheral units. The EBU
will only be available for either bare die or parts in BGA packages. The basic interfaces
of the EBU are shown in
Figure 12-1 .

The EBU is internally connected to the Local Memory Bus (LMB).
12.1 Feature List
The main features of the memory controller are as follows:

64-bit internal LMB interface
• 16-bit external multiplexed bus interface
– Flexibly programmable access parameters
– Different Device settings available for read and write accesses
– Programmable chip select lines
– Devices with separate address and data lines supported when an external address
latch is used.
• Data buffering supported
– Read and write buffers
