7) Push the base assembly towards the rear of the monitor until its hinges are free of the monitor case,
then slightly lift and push it towards the monitor's front to free its rear hinge from the monitor case.

NOTE: If monitor or keyboard cables need to be replaced, refer to the procedure for changing a
keyboard or monitor cable

8-3-1-4 Vivid 3N Monitor 15" Installation Procedure
1) Carefully lay the monitor on a soft surface and turn it upside down, so that its underside is
accessible, as shown in Figure 8-30 "Vivid 3 15" Monitor Base Assembly Screws" on page 8-29 .
2) Place the base assembly on the bottom of the monitor case.
3) Hold the base assembly slightly lifted and insert the middle hinge into the middle slot on the rear
end of the monitor case, then lower the base assembly and push it towards the front of the monitor
so that the remaining four hinges slide into the four slots on the monitor case.
4) Mount the base assembly locking bracket and fasten it with its two screws.
5) Return the base assembly cover to its original position and fasten it with its three screws, one at the
front and two at the rear.
NOTE: Ensure that the Teflon washer is in place before you return the monitor to the control
console.
6) Carefully lift the monitor and insert its pivot shaft through the Teflon washer, into the hole on the top
of the control console. You may need to swivel the monitor slightly right and left while pushing it
downwards. Check that the pivot shaft of the monitor base is fully inserted, and that the base is
resting on the Teflon washer, as shown in
Figure 8-29 "Removing the Vivid 3N 15" Monitor" on page
8-29 .
7) Position the monitor directly in line with the front of the control console and tighten the securing
screw located at the rear of the monitor base, as shown in Figure 8-28 "Vivid 3N Monitor Base
Screw" on page 8-28 .
8) Plug the VGA cable and AC power cable into the rear of the control console.
9) Check that the monitor can turn to the left and right to a limited degree. Also check that it can be
tilted upwards and downwards , and that it holds its set position.
