CONTROL SYSTEM
ADJUSTING THE THROTTLE CONTROL
CABLE (F8CW)
NOTE:
Before adjusting the throttle control cable,
make sure that the shift control cable is
properly adjusted
1. Check:
Throttle control cable
Damage
Replace.
Excessive slack or the stoppers do
not contact each other
Adjust.
2. Adjust:
Throttle control cable
Adjusting steps:
(1)Set the remote control lever to the
neutral position.
(2)Loosen the locknut

and remove the
clip and the cable end
2
from the
pulley
3
.
(3)Move the pulley
3
by hand until the
stopper portion
c
on the pully
3
contacts the stopper portion
d
on the
throttle wire stay
4
. Then, hold it in
this position.
(4)Turn the cable end
2
so it aligns with
the pin on the pulley
3
.
Then, reinstall the cable end
2
onto
the pulley
3
.
WARNING
The cable end should be screwed in more
than 8 mm (0.31 in).
(5)Install the clip and tighten locknut
1
.
(6)Fully open and close the remote
control lever and make sure the
stopper portion
a
contacts the stopper
portion
b
(at the fully-opened
position), and the stopper portion
c
contacts the stopper portion
d
(at the
fully-closed position).
If proper contact is not made, repeat
the above procedure.
NOTE:
If the throttle control cable cannot be
properly adjusted at the engine side, make
adjustment at the remote control lever
side.
