As an option for cell cultures, carbon dioxide (CO
2
) can be used
instead of liquid acid for pH control.
4.6.1 Gassing Strategy
The following variants are available:
Basic (bacterial system only)
Manual flow control via rotameter
Gasmix via solenoid valves
Standard
Gas flow control via one electronic mass flow controller
Gasmix via solenoid valves
High End
Gas flow control and Gasmix via electronic mass flow controllers, 1
piece per gas.
Additionally for cell cultures available:
Head space gassing with Air
Manual gas flow control via rotameter.

Either manual gas flow control via rotameter or automatic via elec-
tronic mass flow controller. Addition either via solenoid valve or via
the same mass flow controller that is used for flow control.
