8.3 Ending Fermentation
CAUTION!
Risk of injury due to uncontrolled restart of the
stirrer and peristaltic pumps.
Stopping fermentation by the main switch is like a
power cut. I.e. it leads to resuming the former set-
tings when switching on again. The stirrer and the
peristaltic pumps are activated again, which carries
a risk of injury to the user
Therefore:
– Never stop fermentation by using the main
switch.
– Always stop the bioreactor and shut down the
system first on the operating panel.
The bioreactor(s) can be stopped, and the cultivated organisms
can be harvested when fermentation/cultivation is finished.
The reagent hoses must be completely emptied after harvest. This
can be carried out manually using the rocker switches above the
pumps or automatically via the corresponding function in the touch
screen software on the operating panel.
Operation of the touch screen software is described in detail in the
separate operating manual from the manufacturer.
