4.7 Accessory Kit
Standard packages for bacterial or cell cultures include an acces-
sory kit with the following components:
Exit gas cooler (see chapter "Gassing and Exit gas ")
Antifoam sensor, sensor and dosing needle combined
Reagent bottles
Sampling system
4.7.1 Antifoam Sensor
The antifoam sensor detects foam and serves as a dosing needle
for the antifoam reagent at the same time. When the sensor comes
in contact with foam or liquid, an electrical circuit is made and the
antifoam pump is activated.
Basically, two different types of the antifoam sensor are available:
With clamping adapter and rounded sensor tip for 10 mm
ports, available in two different lengths
With clamping adapter and sharp sensor tip for 12 mm ports
with a length of 250 mm
The type with clamping adapter and a length of 130 mm is deliv-
ered by default.
