7.2.2.3 Mounting the Antifoam Sensor
Respect the following points, when mounting the antifoam sensor:
The sensor head must not touch the clamping adapter, re-
spectively the hollow screw on the clamping adaptor, other-
wise a continuous short-circuit is generated, indicating
“Foam”.
The transparent sheathing must be intact, otherwise a contin-
uous short-circuit can be generated, indicating “Foam”.
The sensor must be adjusted in its height. It may not be
pushed lower into the vessel, once mounted due to risk of
contamination.
CAUTION!
Risk of damage!
Adjusting the height of the antifoam sensor with a
tight clamping screw or screw on the clamping
adapter can damage the transparent sheathing
around the sensor!
Therefore:
– Only adjust the height of the antifoam sensor
with a loose clamping screw.
– Check transparent sheathings on damage and
replace as necessary before mounting the sen-
sor.
To mount the antifoam sensor, proceed as follows:
Procedure
1.
Remove the protective caps from the antifoam sensor.
2.
Check the transparent sheathings on damage and replace as
necessary.
NOTICE!
Carefully pull the sheathing over the sensor and
shrink coat it by warming it up using e.g. a hair
dryer for mounting it.
3.
Prepare the port in the vessel top plate:
