A misplaced stirrer cannot start running. Correcting the position of
a misplaced stirrer shaft after sterilisation will break sterility of the
vessel.
NOTICE!
Stirrer shafts for cell cultures do not have a location
bearing.
Ensure the following:
The lower end of the stirrer shaft must be seated centrally on
the location bearing.
CAUTION!
Danger of damaging the location bearing due to
a misplaced stirrer shaft!
If not seated centrally on the location bearing, the
stirrer shaft can be abruptly be drawn in by the
magnets and damage the bearing when mounting
the vessel into the basic unit.
Therefore:
– Check if the stirrer shaft is correctly seated on
the location bearing before every use and adjust
if necessary.
Impellers must be positioned as desired
Fixing the stirrer shaft
To fix the stirrer shaft in order to prevent it from dislocation, pro-
ceed as follows:
Procedure
1.
Move the O-ring on the stirrer shaft fully upwards, if neces-
sary.
