7.2.2 Preparing the Sensors
NOTICE!
Initial operation, maintenance and use of the sen-
sors are described in detail in the sensor manufac-
turer’s documentations. These instructions are
strictly to be followed!
7.2.2.1 Calibrating the pH Sensor
The bioreactor system is preconfigured at the factory for use with
METTLER or HAMILTON pH sensors.
For all pH sensors it generally applies that a reliable pH measure-
ment always needs a 2-point calibration with a high and low refer-
ence buffer. It also applies that the calibration should be performed
again before each fermentation/cultivation process. Calibration
must be performed prior to sterilisation, in other words before
mounting the pH sensor.
A detailed description how to calibrate the pH sensor can be found
in the separate touch screen software manual from the equipment
manufacturer.

Risk of damage to the sensors!
Using tools of any kind to mount the sensors may
damage them!
