1. STARTUP

The procedure below should be implemented prior to supplying
power to the spectrometer

1.1 Check of Instrument

On the main unit of atomic absorption spectrophotometer,
perform the following checks.

(1) Is each unit of the instrument (main unit and PC) connected

properly?

For cable connection, coolant piping and gas piping, refer
to the maintenance edition.

(2) Isn’t the quartz window contaminated?

Remove the quartz window from electrode section. If the
window is contaminated, it must be cleaned.

(3) Is the graphite cuvette mounted properly in the atomizing

furnace?

For using the already mounted graphite cuvette, make sure
the cuvette is mounted exactly between the electrode rings,
the cuvette has not yet been deteriorated and its sample
injection port faces upward.
Various types of cuvettes are available. Be sure to check
the type before using it. For mounting the cuvette newly,
follow the instructions given in “1.4 Graphite Cuvette
Installation.”

(4) Is the waste solution bottle of autosampler filled?

Empty the waste solution bottle before measurement.

(5) Is rinsing solution supplied into the rinsing solution bottle of

autosampler?
Replace with the new rinsing solution before measurement.

(6) Is sufficient amount of gas left to be used?
(7) Is paper set in the printer?

Does ink or toner have run out?
