(4) Setup analytical conditions, standards table parameters,
and sample table parameters.
In emission measurement, it is recommended to use
resloping since variations in sensitivity are likely to occur
when a long time is taken for measurement.
For some elements, best results may be attained by
changing the default conditions.
(5) Verify the method.
(6) Supply cooling water.
(7) Ignite a flame.
(8) While injecting a standard solution having the highest
concentration of the analyte element, click the [Ready]
button.
In emission measurement, use the following reference
values of element concentrations in standard samples
for wavelength and intensity adjustments.
Alkali metals and alkaline earth metals:
Approx. 10 mg/L
Other elements:
Approx. 100 mg/L
(9) Check the [Lamp Spectrum].
(10) While injecting pure water, click the [Auto Zero] button.
The [Auto Zero] button on the spectrophotometer main unit
may also be used.
(11) Measure the sample concerned.
In emission measurement, it is recommended to use
resloping since variations in sensitivity are likely to occur
when a long time is taken for measurement.
(12) On completion of the measurement, turn off the flame and
stop the cooling water.
NOTE
: Flame measurement does not use a hollow cathode
lamp. Therefore, any number may be set for the lamp
number.
