AUDIO PANEL AND CNS
CLEARANCE RECORDER AND PLAYER
The Audio Panel contains a digital clearance recorder that continually records up to 2.5 minutes of the
selected COM radio signal. Recorded COM audio is stored in separate memory blocks. Once 2.5 minutes of
recording time have been reached, the recorder begins recording over the stored memory blocks, starting from
the oldest block.
The
PLAY
Key controls the play function. Pressing the
PLAY
Key once plays the last recorded memory block
and then returns to normal operation. Each subsequent
PLAY
Key press while recorded audio is playing will
play the previously recorded block. The PLAY annunciation remains illuminated when play is in progress and
extinguishes when play is finished.
Play will stop at the end of the recording, upon receiving an audio transmission, or when PTT is pressed. If
equipped with the GMA 1347, pressing the
MKR/MUTE
Key will also stop play.
Powering off the unit automatically clears all recorded blocks.
TELEPHONE AND ENTERTAINMENT INPUTS
NOTE:
MUSIC INPUT #1 and MUSIC INPUT #2 cannot be completely turned off. Audio level for
MUSIC INPUT #1 and MUSIC INPUT #2 can be adjusted by a Garmin-authorized service center.
The Audio Panel provides two stereo auxiliary entertainment inputs: MUSIC INPUT #1 and MUSIC INPUT #2.
These inputs are compatible with popular portable entertainment devices such as cell phones, and tablets. Two
3.5-mm stereo phone jacks are installed in convenient locations for audio connection. The headphone outputs
of the entertainment devices are plugged into the MUSIC INPUT #1 or MUSIC INPUT #2 jacks.
The current ICS state of isolation affects the distribution of the entertainment input MUSIC INPUT #1.
MUSIC INPUT #1
If equipped with the GMA 1347, music input can be heard by the pilot and copilot when both the PILOT
and the COPLT ICS Annunciations are extinguished. MUSIC can also be heard by the pilot when the COPLT
Annunciation is illuminated and by the copilot when the PILOT Annunciation is illuminated.
If equipped with the GMA 1360, non-flight audio (TEL, MUS1, and MUS2) is distributed to crew and
passengers without regard to ICS settings. These distributions are managed via Blue-Select Mode.
MUSIC INPUT #1 MUTING
MUSIC INPUT #1 muting occurs when aircraft radio or marker beacon activity is heard. MUSIC INPUT #1
is always soft muted when an interruption occurs from these sources. Soft muting is the gradual return of
MUSIC INPUT #1 to its original volume level. The time required for MUSIC INPUT #1 volume to return to
normal is between one-half and four seconds.
MUSIC INPUT #1 MUTING ENABLE/DISABLE
If equipped with the GMA 1347, pressing and holding the
MKR/MUTE
Key for three seconds switches
MUSIC INPUT #1 muting on and off. When switching, either one or two beeps are heard; one beep indicates
that music muting is enabled, two beeps indicate music muting is disabled. MUSIC INPUT #1 muting is reset
(enabled) whenever power is reapplied. MUSIC INPUT #2 can be heard only by the passengers and is never
muted.
