service unsupported-transceiver
Use this command to avoid the following on using an unsupported optic.
• Logging of a message.
• Generation of SNMP trap.
Use the
no
form of this command to set the transceiver support to the factory
default.
Syntax
service unsupported-transceiver
no service unsupported-transceiver
Default Configuration
The default configuration is to log a message along with the SNMP trap
generation on insertion or removal of an optic that is not qualified by Dell.

Global Configuration mode
User Guidelines
The switch logs a message and generates a trap on inserting or removing an
optics not qualified by Dell. This command suppresses the above mentioned
behavior.
Example
The following example bypasses logging of a message and trap generation on
inserting or removing an optics not qualified by Dell.
console(config)# service unsupported-transceiver
set description
Use the
set description
command in Stack Configuration mode to associate a
text description with a switch in the stack.
