User Guidelines
This command has no user guidelines.
Example
The following example defines a static host name-to-address mapping in the
host cache.
console(config)#ip host
accounting.dell.com 176.10.23.1
ip name-server
Use the
ip name-server
command in Global Configuration mode to define
available IPv4 or IPv6 name servers. To delete a name server, use the
no
form
of this command.
Syntax
ip name-server
server-address1 [server-address2 … server-address8]
no ip name-server
[server-address1 … server-address8]
• server-address — Valid IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the name server. (Range:
1–255 characters)
Default Configuration
No name server IP addresses are specified.

User Guidelines
Server preference is determined by entry order.
Up to eight servers can be defined in one command or by using multiple
commands. Use the
command to display the configured name
servers.

The following example sets the available name server.
console(config)#ip name-server
