Example
The following example shows a classical incast situation on interface Gi1/0/2
where the port is fully utilized or nearly fully utilized, buffering many frames
(with increased latency) and beginning to drop frames as the internal
Rx Util
The receive utilization which is the link
utilization in the receive direction as a
percentage of operational speed (range
0-100). The utilization is derived by
dividing the link speed by the number of
bytes received averaged over the last
sampling interval.
Tx Util
The transmit utilization. The link
utilization in the transmit direction as a
percentage of operational speed (range
0-100). The utilization is derived by
dividing the link speed by the number of
bytes received averaged over the last
sampling interval.
Rx PPS
The received packets per second. This
value is the average number of packets
received over the last sampling interval.
Tx PPS
The transmitted packets per second.
This value is the average number of
packets transmitted over the last
sampling interval.
Buffer Size
The number of bytes queued for egress
on the interface. This value is calculated
as the number of cells multiplied by the
cell size (cell size is hardware specific)
and is read directly from the hardware,
i.e. this value is not sampled.
Drop Count
The number of packets queued for
egress that are dropped for any reason. It
is the same value as shown for “Transmit
Packets Discarded” in the
show statistics
command.
